Congratulations to PhD student Anders Miltner, and coauthors Saswat Padhi (UCLA), Professor Todd Millstein (UCLA), and Professor David Walker for their paper entitled "Data-driven inference of representation invariants," which won a PLDI 2020 distinguished paper award.

The School of Engineering and Applied Science is honoring six assistant professors for early-career excellence in research and teaching. Among them are Assistant Professors Jia Deng and Zachary Kincaid. They will each receive $50,000 to support their research.

Teaching Faculty: The Key to ‘Opening the Door’
At Princeton, teaching faculty are especially important because computer science is the most popular major at the University, with more than 10% of undergraduates receiving a CS degree. But student interest in computer science extends well beyond those who want to make it a career. During the fall semester, 789 non-computer-science majors took courses offered by the department, and the total rose to 926 in the spring semester, according to Colleen Kenny, the department’s undergraduate program manager.
