Important Information

Please read the infosheet and the coaching sheet carefully, but here is a quick summary of the assignment structure:

Problem Sets Are Not Graded

  • Problem sets are ungraded but essential for exam preparation.
  • The primary purpose is to help you develop problem-solving skills for the exams.
  • Exams will be challenging and require consistent practice throughout the semester.

Personalized Feedback Through Coaching

  • Each student gets assigned a TA or UCA as a "coach" for the semester.
  • Weekly 30-minute 1-on-1 meetings available for detailed feedback.
  • Coaches can live-"grade" portions of your problem sets and provide guidance.
  • Use coaching sessions to discuss your approach and get help with difficult concepts.

Grading Credits System

  • Attending coaching sessions earns you "credits" that reduce exam weight.
  • Each coaching session attended reduces exam weight by 5 percent points.
  • Maximum of 8 credits possible (worth up to 40% of the final grade).
  • Credits are earned simply by showing up engaged to coaching meetings.
