Course Summary

This course will cover topics pertaining to the use of computers in medicine, ranging from its historical roots to speculative projections. The course is intended for students with experience in computing and an interest in the application of computer science to a specific domain or with an interest in medicine as a career and some computing background. Some of the specific topics that will be covered include networking in medicine, artificial intelligence, privacy and confidentiality, PDA's, intelligent biosensors and devices, home health networks and robotics.
