1/13/05, noon: Exam 2 can be accessed here as a pdf file. Hardcopies are available from Professor LaPaugh or her secretary Mitra Kelly (Room 323).

1/12/05. The midterm exam will be posted on this Web page as a PDF file at noon tomorrow. We will also have hardcopys available at Professor LaPaugh's office (Rm 304).

1/11/05. Solutions to exam 1 are available as a pdf file.

1/10/05. Happy New Year! Announcements for the project and take-home exam:

• Project reports should be turned in to Professor LaPaugh at her office.
• When you turn in your project report sign up for a demonstration time on the sheet posted to the right of Professor LaPaugh's door.
• When you turn in your project report, also pick up your graded assignments 6 and 7.
• Professor LaPaugh will have office hours Wed. 2-4pm (1/12) for questions before the exam. If you need to come at a different time, please email Professor LaPaugh.
• The exam will cover material since the midterm exam, but earlier material is necessary for the later material (e.g. B+-trees to understand query evaluation costs).
• Solutions to the first exam will be posted tomorrow.

11/22/04: The sign-up sheet for times next week to discuss the progress of your project with Prof. LaPaugh is outside her office. This meeting is mandatory, and both partners must attend. It is not a formal presentation. If you did not sign up in class today, please sign up by 11/29.

11/18/04: Status of the grading of Exam 1: I expect problems 4-7 to be graded by tomorrow morning, but I am not optimistic about having the entire test graded and available before Monday. I encourage anyone who would like feedback before Monday to contact me in my office or email me.

11/15/04: The due date of problem set 5 has been extended from Wed. 11/17 to Mon. 11/22/04.

11/8/04 3:03 pm: The first exam was handed out at the end of class. You can access the pdf file here.
