Parametric cubic curves
Parametric representation:
- x = x(t), y = y(t), z = z(t)
- overcomes problems with explicit and implicit forms
- no geometric slopes (which may be infinite)
- parametric tangent vectors instead (never infinite)
- a curve is approximated by a piecewise polynomial curve
