3D Grid Method [Rossignac-Borrel 93]
Steps:
- Subdivide the bounding volume into regular grid
- Merge all vertices within each cell together into a new vertex
- Form triangles according to original topology.
- Advantage: very general, fast
- Disadvantage : low quality, non-adaptive
