Go to one of the clusters with Scanners: http://www.princeton.edu/~clusters/scanlist.shtml The scanners are generally hooked up to Macs so here are the instructions: 1) Open Ofoto under Apple Menu -> Recent Applications 2) Set Picture in a clean area of the scanner 3) On the Scan Controls Window Select: Manual 24:C 600 24:C either 300 (for more reasonable file sizes) or 600 (high quality) 4) Press Prescan 5) Move "flashing" borders to crop area to be scanned 6) Press Scan 7) When done: Save as mypic.tif on the desktop 8) Close Ofoto 9) Use Fetch to put the file in your arizona directory 10) Since the tif file is huge, I recommend opening it on an IBM with Paint Shop Pro or another image editing program, and saving it as a .jpg file. These are almost a tenth of the size and won't eat up your disk quota. 11) Put your mypict.jpg in your arizona directory, and delete your tif file since it is very likely to be 5MB or more!
