Here is a a brief observation of paper "Alternative Implementations of 2-Level Adaptive Branch Prediction".

The paper discussed an 2-level adaptive branch prediction scheme with about 97% accuracy, described its implementation and how to pipeline it, estimated its hardware costs, presented and compared the simulation results of its three variations and other branch prediction schemes.

How the Branch History Table is cached seems need to be more detailed.
