1) Please describe three applications for which a point cloud is a more appropriate representation for surface geometry than a mesh. For each application, please describe which operations are required and why a point cloud is preferable for those operations.

2) Both multiresolution meshes and spectral meshes aim to represent "frequencies" in 3D surface geometry. Please comment on how each does so, drawing analogies to frequency analysis in other domains (e.g., 1D signals or images).
