MADAME SCHUMANN-HEINK COOKIES

1/2 lb. butter
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. orange juice
1 tsp. (or more) orange rind
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 - 3 c. flour
Pinch of salt

Mix together, roll out, and cut in heart shapes or rounds. Bake at about
350o until light brown. Frost with orange flavored confectioner's sugar
glaze. (1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar, 3 - 4 T milk, 1/2 tsp. orange
flavoring, orange food coloring (to taste))

They store well in metal cookie tins.
