There’s lots of stuff that I think is cool. Here’s the list that instantly springs to mind as I’m sitting down at my computer. This isn’t going to be my dissertation on why these things are great, nor will it provide you much useful information about them, but it might give you a better idea of who I am.

Fencing
I’m an ‘A’ rated epeeist (that’s good), and in the past have regularly competed on the national circuit. Even though I live in LA now, I still represent Salle Auriol Seattle.

Board Games
I quite like board games, especially German ones. Currently some of my favorites are Alhambra, Torres, and Apples to Apples.

Computer Science
Since I was a grad student at Princeton, it’s a good thing that I generally find computer science interesting. Graphics and Theory are my two favorite areas with Bioinformatics a close third. [My Paper]

Computer Animation
I’m a great fan of computer animation. So much so that I took a job at Digital Domain as a Software Engineer. You can check out some of the stuff I’ve made on my movies page.

British Comedy
Actually, I like most things British. Even the food! My very favorite is Chef, though I’m also a big fan of some old standbys like Red Dwarf and Black Adder, as well as some of the newer shows like Coupling and The Office.

History
I’m a big fan of history, and must constantly work to avoid being sucked in by the History Channel. Overall, I’m most interested in the history of Mediterranean countries, Bronze Age Greece in particular.

Racquet Sports
Racquetball is almost as much fun as fencing. Unfortunately, it was hard to find it out at Princeton, so I took up squash and tennis instead.

Travel
I quite like traveling, especially to see all the subtle (and not so subtle) differences to home. Within the not too distant past I’ve been to: Australia, England, Ireland, France and Japan.
