1997 - 2000
Dissertation: Availability and Scalability of Cluster-Based Internet
Infrastructures
Advisor: Edward W. Felten
·
M.A., Department of Computer Science, Princeton
University, New Jersey, USA, September
1996 - October 1997
·
B.S. with honors, Department of Computer Science and Technology,
Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, September

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
·
Research assistant, Department of Computer Science,
Princeton University, 1997 - present
Advisor: Edward W. Felten
o Designed and implemented an affinity-driven data and query distribution strategy in aggregate in-memory databases for Internet application servers.
o Designed and implemented Archipelago, an island-based file system that provides highly available and scalable data storage and access to Internet applications by isolating failures and reducing communications across islands, the building blocks of the file system.
o
Designed and
implemented Tmon, a performance tool, that identifies performance
bottlenecks in multithreaded programs by tracing waiting relations among
threads.
·
Research
intern, Hewlett Packard Labs, Palo Alto, July 1999 - September 1999
Mentors: Alistair Veitch and
John Wilkes
o
Designed Seneca, a remote storage mirroring
protocol, and implemented a tool based on input/output automata to test Seneca.
·
Research
intern, Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, Palo Alto, July 1998 -
September 1998
Mentor: Mike Salisbury
o
Designed and implemented an efficient event dispatch
system in the Placeless document managing system.
