Current Project Members

Marc E. Fiuczynski (mef@cs.washington.edu) is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. His research interests are internetworking, operating systems, extensible systems, and intelligent I/O systems. He’s worked for several years on the SPIN extensible operating system and hopes to complete his Ph.D. degree before the next millennium.

Richard P. Martin (rmartin@cs.berkeley.edu) is a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He's worked for several years on the NOW project, and his current research concerns application sensitivity to network performance

Brian N. Bershad (bershad@cs.washington.edu) is an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. His research interests include operating systems, distributed systems, networking, parallel systems, and architecture.

Christopher Ulbright (ulbright@cs.washington.edu) is a staff programmer in  Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington.

Former Project Participants

Tsutomu Owa (owa@asg.mmlab.toshiba.co.jp) participated in building the SPINE video client and its extensions, as well as a simple video server that streamed MPEG to the SPINE extension.

Tashana Landray, Rachel Pottinger, and Emily Rocke built the initial version of the SPINE Internet Protocol (IP) router in fulfillment of their CS&E 551 Operating.Systems project requirement.
