I am a researcher at Microsoft Research New York City. My main interests are in combining theoretical and applied aspects of machine learning, statistics, convex optimization and algorithms. Before joining MSR in May 2012, I was a research scientist at Yahoo! Labs (Winter 2010-Spring 2012), a visiting scholar with the LEAR and Bipop teams at INRIA Rhône-Alpes (Fall 2010), and a postdoctoral researcher with the SELECT lab at the Machine Learning Department of CMU (Fall 2007-Summer 2010). I received my PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University in 2007.
