We have simulated the request forwarding mechanism and evaluated
the two schemes for backbone bandwidth reduction, the basic scheme
that forwards requests among reverse proxies and the expanded scheme
that includes the content server into the candidates for request forwarding.
Our simulation uses a trace of accesses to
servers hosted by EasyWWW, AT&T's hosting service for small businesses.
