The New Student Room Guide

Elevator Speech

The situation facing undergraduates trying to decide where to live is grim. The official University Housing site is difficult to navigate, and the key information about any room - the floor plan, the rated occupancy, the square footage, past draw information and more - is spread across a myriad of scattered sites and interfaces. The old Student Room Guide made definite improvements, but it is missing key features, and USG IT systems have changed so that it is no longer properly maintained.

We bring you the new Student Room Guide. It incorporates all of the information you need about every room into one clean, modern, interacitve interface. It has everything you came to expect from the old room guide - quick filtering and searching for rooms with reviews and ratings - but also so much more. You can search interactively with text, by applying filters, and by panning, zooming, and clicking around a map of campus. One click on a building or a room, and the floor plan is before you. Past draw statistics help you determine your chances at a room. Queue up the rooms you are interested in, and you can receive real-time updates by text or email on draw day if they are taken. Collaborate on shared queues with your draw group, and see where your friends want to live. To top it all off, the new guide is incorporated into the new USG Tigerapps system with all the other student tools you use, so you know it will be easily accessible and well-maintained.

Room draw has never been so easy.
