TEACHING

Autumn 2007: I was an assistant in instruction for COS 436, Human-Computer Interface Technology, taught by Perry Cook.

Spring 2008: I am an assistant in instruction for COS/MUS 314, Computer & Electronic Music through Programming, Performance, & Composition. This is one of two courses for the Princeton Laptop Orchestra (PLOrk) this term. See the course wiki for more information.

Office Hours
Please come to my office hours! They are the best time to talk to me and address questions you have about the course material, assignments, labs, grading, exams, etc. No need for an appointment during these times.

My office is in room 217 of the CS building. Take the elevator to the second floor, turn right, and you will see my office at the end of the hallway. I will announce my office hours for Spring semester by the second week of February. In the meantime, if you have questions, please send me an email!

With enough notice, I am sometimes able to set up appointments if you can't come to my office hours.

Getting Help
1) See OFFICE HOURS above.

2) Feel free to email me directly with questions about your assignments and labs. I typically check email between 9am and 9pm, and I will do my best to reply to your email within 6 hours. The earlier you email me with questions about your assignments, the better!

3) Don't hesitate to use the course mailing list to discuss course topics and general questions with your classmates. Asking relevant questions, answering your classmates' questions (as long as you don't share homework solutions!), and posting links to relevant resources are all wonderful things. Sharing homework solutions is a bad thing.

Assignments
Expect to turn in your assignments on time! If you do need to turn in an assignment late, please put it in my mailbox on the second floor of the CS building. 10% is marked off per day late, so it is very important that you mark on your assignment when you turned it in! Just to be safe, you might also want to email me to let me know your assignment is in my mailbox.

Grading
Expect your assignments back within one week of submission unless I give you a warning that I am busy or out of town.

Expect your assignments to be graded fairly. If you have a question or problem regarding your grade, let me know during my office hours or via email. I will be happy to re-grade any assignment, but I reserve the right to give you a lower grade if I find other mistakes or problems.
