One of the worst experiences we all go through from time to time is waiting on hold for customer service. The worst part is not the waiting, but rather not knowing when you are going to be helped. What if we could make that experience better? We propose TimeInLine, a customer service dashboard. When a customer calls into a company for customer service they are given the option to visit TimeInLine.com while they wait. When they visit our site and enter their phone number, they are shown information relating to their wait, such as their position in line, expected wait time, and the distribution of wait times over the week. Additionally, we can present analytics to companies so they can better assess their customer service system and use our information to improve the user experience. Overall, we aim to make the entire telephone customer service system more transparent, informative, and enjoyable.
