It was a cold day in January and Ben and I had the spontaneous idea to go to StubHub and see if there were good tickets to the Nets game. There were and so off we went to see what turned out to be a good game from very good seats. As a result we could see the dancers well
and noted the score which went our way when the first quarter was over.
As the game continued, I recorded the action (notice the ball in the photos)
pausing to see the celeb-cam highlighting John Amos
before getting back to the game
as the half approached with a less pleasant score.
At half time, we learned that it was Latin Family night which explained the Los Nets T shirts we had been given on arrival
and the presentation to Goya on their 75th anniversary at half time
and then the NETS flags made their way around the court (with many many anagrams possible)
before the action resumed
and I turned to capturing foul shots

as the game continued
with Jason Kidd posing on his homecoming
as the action
rounded out the 3rd quarter in a tie
and the people on stilts
and dancers
welcomed the fourth quarter and its action
before the cheerleaders were flung into the air
and a protested call
let the dancers come out
as the referees conferred
and play resumed with more free throws

leading to a jump ball that was so exciting, my camera blurred
and then we were down beyond crunch time with the Nets ahead by 1
and then the Mavericks took the lead with 6 seconds left
and so the Nets huddled
but it wasn't to be
so that the Mavericks celebrated
as we recorded our tickets
and the game poster and made our way home on the train.
