Time was passing by and it was time for Sarah and Ed to begin their journey west but before they could depart there had to be a few large meals and a discussion of Jane Eyre. TO begin, here were the foods that were being prepared by the non-participants in the book group

and some cupcakes from the Bent Spoon
as the preparations continued
and the flowers were admired
even as the Jane Eyre fans exuded (not sure what they exuded, it looks a little bit like disinterest)
at the side of the master
and the flowers
and food
led to these recipes
which Ben and Jane executed very well
as more food emerged
and then Steven Just arrived
and was joined by Peter Kramer for the martini of the day
as the food was set out
for all to enjoy
including this plate I arranged for myself.
The next night was the last night before Sarah and Ed moved a bit south on their way west and so we celebrated at One 53 with a number of photos of us at our dinner
and then returned home to pose for a possible New Year's card for 5771.

After Sarah and Ed's departure, I ran into Don Dixon '69 at the new Small World and took this picture to amuse his daughter (or vice versa).
