The next day we could sleep in which was fortunate because we had gotten back quite late from the play. At the airport, we found Ed and he joined Ben and Sarah
and Suzanne
and I
as we waited for our plane to launch
so that we could enjoy the food
and the scenery from above
before we landed at the airport
and met this classics professor from Reading who knew many Princetonians.
Unfortunately, even his knowledge of ancient Greek and Ben's excursions into the Iliad were not sufficient to make things fit
into the trunk of this car
but we persevered until we got to Pyrgos Village where this map did little to help us find the reception
but once we found it and found our villa, we were sent off to have lunch so that another villa could be readied for us. Lunch was on the patio (or started there)
of the restaurant with this menu

but we began with Mythos, the local beer,
as Ben had his Fanta OrangeAde
and the first labels were collected
as we dug into the bread
and dips
as Ben and Suzanne
became concerned about the bee situation
including the one who dove into Ben's drink
so that we moved inside (where the bees weren't much better) and Ed
Sarah
Suzanne
Ben
and I
settled in with our water
and water label
and began with the little nibs of bread
before moving on to cheese and tomatoes
stuffed peppers
a chicken salad
and a Greek salad
which made my plate look like this

that came with the coffee
and fruit
which graced my plate like this
as the bill came and was paid
but the bees continued to provide challenges for those who wanted the perfect picture

Our rooms were now ready, so we could check out the baths
and bed

before I enjoyed my first piece of mastic candy
in front of the fireplace. It was a nice villa. Unfortunately, we would move again.
But first, we drove to Limnia where Ed and Sarah
Suzanne
and Ben and I
settled in to enjoy our first ouzo of the trip (fortunately we didn't finish it because the ride home raised challenges of its own)
and toasted
before digging into the Greek salad

cheese pies

fish
and chicken souvlaki.
Having done a good job on the fish,
Ed sent an email
as our watermelon arrived and we began the challenging drive home (but more on that later).
