Java Virtual Rubik's Cube

[This is from 1996]

Enjoy fiddling around with a Rubik's cube? But don't have one on your desk right now? No problem! If you're adept with the mouse, the java virtual Rubik's cube that you see below will be as good as the real thing. You can rotate the cube as a whole either by using the buttons provided or by clicking anywhere on the cube with the left mouse button and dragging. I prefer the second method myself. You can turn a slice of the cube by clicking with the right mouse button on any small square, dragging the mouse to an adjacent small square and then releasing the mouse button. Sounds complicated, but you'll soon get the hang of it!

Solution

Sorry about the dirty trick with that so-called ``Solve!'' button. It would be nice to have a program show you a step-by-step solution. In case you didn't know, it's remarkably easy to solve the Rubik's cube. See my little write up on how to solve a Rubik's cube.
