Abstract:
PRAM is a new scalable shared memory system. It is unlike any current shared memory system, precisely because PRAM can reach an inconsistent state. We show that standard programming techniques can avoid any effects of this inconsistency. The advantages of PRAM are that it is simpler, faster, and less expensive than existing systems.
