Abstract:

Some computer communication networks provide a multicast facility for their users. This means that a host can hand a message to its server with more than one destination address. The network then tries to deliver the message to all specified destinations in an efficient way. However, it does not guarantee a
reliable delivery. In this paper the problem of reliable broadcast on top of such a network is considered. The solution proposed makes use of the multicast facility to achieve efficiency.
