Admission to PICASso

APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 1, 2006 (for Fall 2006 / Spring 2007)

Graduate students pursuing the Ph.D. degree typically apply to PICASso near the end of their second or third year of graduate study. Interested students should should contact the PICASso admissions committee

An application consists of:

  • A listing of your full name, home department and advisor(s)
  • CV or resume
  • A description (~2 pages) of your proposed research and how this fits in with the mission of PICASso.
  • A course plan showing courses taken and planned. It must satisfy the committee that adequate training has been or will be received in the desired interdisciplinary areas.

Student obligations for each year of funding:

  • A passing grade in at least one PICASso course.
  • Attendance at at least one PICASso mini-workshop or tutorial.
  • At least two presentations at PICASso seminars (e.g., a tutorial on a computational method relevant to your research area, and a presentation covering your research)

Please note that stipend support is currently available only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
