File Structure

File Server Organization

Plans:

A local NT domain will be set up in the display wall lab with restricted administrator privileges.

Two file servers will be set up Wallfs and Vizfs. Wallfs will be the display wall file server (binaries, scripts, content), and Vizfs will be the visualization data fileserver. Except for user directories these file servers will be read only.

Wallfs will have a file structure as follows:

Displaywall
    Release  (stable, static version)

Bin

Doc

SourceSafe-tag
     Dev  (in-house working version)

    Demo (self contained demos)

Tiger_hall

Users (users content and code related to display wall – individual and group access)

gwallace

Note: All scripts and binaries should use relative paths when accessing files and should get the current working directory from the env variables. This will facilitate ease of file structure reorganization in the future.
