| Project Goals | The goal of this project is to build a planetary-scale overlay network that serves as a testbed for a new class of geographically distributed network services. Unlike conventional network testbeds, however, we advocate an approach that supports both researchers that want to develop new services, and clients that want to use them. This dual use, in turn, suggests a design that is not widely supported in existing testbeds. |
| Results | We have designed PlanetLab to be both a research testbed and a service deployment platform [HotNets02]. |
