Yaoping Ruan has been awarded the Friends of the International Center Excellence in Teaching Award as part of the APGA Teaching Awards. This award is made "to an international student who has contributed to inter-cultural understanding and manifested excellence in (undergraduate) teaching". Yaoping was an AI for COS 318 and COS 320 this year. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Amal Ahmed who has been awarded the George Von Ness Lothrop Fellowship in Engineering for the 2002-03 academic year. This award is one of the University Honorific Fellowships given each year by the Graduate School to students in their final year of graduate work. The honorific fellowships recognize outstanding performance and professional promise and represent high commendation from the Graduate School.
