Week 3 (Feb. 16) Heating Up
Another seminal paper with an easily stated message, but
the technical details are a bit more involved:

We'll first review the Turing machine model and some basic notions
of complexity measures, but hopefully not so much as to bore the
cognoscenti in the class. A good general reference for background
reading is [Sip96].
