Feb 4 - Semester begins. Start looking for a project and an adviser. The earlier you find an adviser, the better.
Feb 11 (4:30PM) - Welcome meeting in CS 105 (slides are here)
Feb 12 (12-1:30PM) - Lunch with faculty in CS tea room. Come and discuss IW project possibilities with faculty.
Feb 18-22 - sign up for proposal presentation and final presentation slots (Donna's office, CS 410)
Feb 22 (By 4:30PM) - independent project forms (doc, txt) signed by advisor due to Donna O'Leary (Donna's office, CS 410)
Feb 26-29 - proposal presentations (slides must be submitted to moodle prior to the talk -- submission must not delay beginning of your talk or there will be a 10% penalty). Students are expected to attend for an entire 1-hour block (starting and ending on the hour) and give feedback to other students in that time period using the feedback forms (doc, txt). Location TBA (ask Donna). Make sure it is convenient for your advisor to attend.
April 11 - midterm checkpoint form (pdf, doc, txt) due to Donna O'Leary (Donna's office, CS 410)
April 30 - deadline to email Donna O'Leary to schedule a demo for the poster session
May 5 - final report due
May 7 - poster session in Friend Center Convocation Room. Arrive at 1:45pm at the latest to set up. Poster session runs from 2pm-4pm
Feb 8 (4:30PM)- Midpoint Paper Due and signed Checkpoint Form (pdf, doc, txt) must be returned to Donna O'Leary (Donna's office, CS 410). Note: since your advisor must read your paper and then sign the form, you need to have your paper done before 4:30! Remember, you also need to arrange a meeting with your advisor and get them to read the paper! Plan in advance! Turning this form in early is just fine!!
Feb 12 (12-1:30PM) - Lunch with faculty in CS tea room. Come and discuss your progress on your IW project with faculty and other students.
Feb 18-22 - sign up for final presentation slots (Donna's office, CS 410)
Feb 22 - independent project form (pdf, doc) signed by your second reader due to Donna O'Leary (Donna's office, CS 410)
