INTERNET AUCTIONS:
Theory & Practice

The goal of this course is to connect theory, laboratory, and field experiments to real behavior in auctions. Basic results will be derived and tested, in class and by observing commercial Internet auctions. Topics include: Vickrey auctions, revenue equivalence, optimal auctions, multiple-unit auctions, mechanism design, results from the laboratory, field experiments, auction behavior models, agent-based simulation.
