Instructions for Using the Display Wall
Course Grade: Wall assignments (5% each), Midterm (25%), Industry study/class presentation (25%), Final Project (40%)
Wall Assignment #1 - Home Health Network on the display wall
The assignment is to create a picture of what a home health interface or architecture might look like. There are no correct answers. The "palette" is the display wall (6000Hx3000V) pixels. Solutions may include pictures, devices, layouts, interfaces etc. The class will be used to review and discuss each of the images. BTW:Please send an email to Peng at pbi@cs.princeton.edu so that we can build a mailist for the class.
Midterm
The midterm will cover only the material presented in class prior to the exam. The schedule page has suggested readings from the text. The format of the exam will be a mix of standardized questions (multiple choice, brief essay). The exam will be held in class on the appointed day, and should take approximately one hour.
Class Presentations
These should take the form of 30-45 lectures/presentations on topic worked with me. Presentations can be in any format you like.
Wall Assignment #2 - Data Visualization assignment
This assignment is to create a visualization of medical data. Again, no correct answers. There are any number of Data Visualization resources around: http://www.math.yorku.ca/SCS/Gallery/ or http://www.amiravis.com/examples/
Final Project (functional web-based CPR)
required elements as follows
- authorization/authentication layer (HIPAA compliant)
- patient list
- individual patient encounter data
- image display (pathology slides, xrays, mpgs)
- vital signs
- lab data
- show trending in some format
- history and physical
- decision support
- data input page (progress notes)
- plan page
- read/write functionality
- no more than 3 layers deep (below authentication layer)
