Typing in object-oriented languages: Achieving expressiveness and safety by Kim Bruce. A paper giving an overview of typing issues in object-oriented languages. Much of the lecture material on types in object-oriented languages will be based on this.
Understanding Object-Oriented Languages: Semantics and Types by Kim Bruce. Lecture notes on object-oriented languages. This is the core of material covered in class. I intend to expand this into a monograph investigating the type theory and semantics of object-oriented languages.

Sun documentation on Java 1.1.7. This includes documentation on the core API (built-in and library classes and methods).
A copy of the Java 1.1.4 documentation is currently available locally. There shouldn't be much difference between 1.1.4 and 1.1.7.
